June Board Meeting 6/7/16

Meeting started at 7:41pm
Motions: May meeting minutes were reviewed and approved by the board members to be distributed to the membership via email, FaceBook and website.
President – Mike McLaughlin
Mike reported RJS tree services were hired to cut three dead trees and remove the stump by the parking lot. Signarama sign is due to be installed June 13th. Mike said he wants to plant rose bushes around the sign as a theft deterrent.
4th July – Alcohol permit for the picnic is under-way. The permit is from 11am – 9 pm and alcohol will be served by TIPS trained bartenders.
Ice Bucket challenge is planned on Father’s Day to raise funds. The proceeds will go towards playground improvements.
Vice President/Membership – Pat Holoob
Pat reported that two new members – Evan and Katherine Oftedal, Richard and Edin Federici family have joined the lake.
She brought up that the email address records on the member directory need to be updated and Lisa K. volunteered to help out.
XM Radio – Pat requested Chris Lelli to renew the XM subscription service. She said TV was not working.
She said we need about 15 new propane cylinders for the July 4th picnic. Bob Papp said he will check with Kyle.
Geese need to be addressed. The board agreed to get this treated.
Clubhouse – Chris Lelli
Chris said water heater and water filter has been fixed at the clubhouse. He’s troubleshooting the phone line. He tried plugging-in a new phone but it’s not working. He said he will call the utility company to take a look at it. Chris reported there is one power outlet in clubhouse not up to code and needs to be fixed.
Mural – Ilona Lelli wants to put up a mural at the clubhouse and will present some ideas in the 1st week of July.
Treasury – Bob Papp
Bob Papp reported that about $10,000 were paid as accountant charges for the work involved in bringing the accounts in order. Going forward the accountant fees will be around $1350 annually.
We have received $3,000 in initiation fees from 3 new members which are deposited into the restoration fund.
Membership Dues – Bob has sent to the board the list of people in arrears. Pat Holoob said she will call and ask them to pay up.
Corresponding Secretary – Lisa Kutchaver
Lisa is preparing material for the July newsletter and she asked the board members to send her a short writeup in their respective area of responsibility.
Recording Secretary – Harshal Limaye
Nothing to report.
Environmental – open position
Grounds – Mike Gilmore
Mike G reported that there was cleanup before the open house. Ropes were replaced. The steps of the ladder at the dock were rusting out and was replaced with a new ladder. Jim Doggett taught Mike G. how to lock in the floats.
Lawn care service is on weekly and Mike G asked when to switch it to once every two weeks. He said he will work on geese control.
Gates are working good.
Mike said Bridgewater Disposal did not pick up the garbage two times in a row and is considering changing the service.
Lifeguards – Kari O’Connell
Kari reported that we have lifeguard coverage for the weekends and starting June 24th lifeguards are on duty every day between 11AM – 7PM. Lifeguards are staffed for the July 4th picnic in three shifts. Towards the end of summer there will not be enough lifeguards on duty and Kari is looking to hire more.
The lifeguard post needs shingles on it roof.
The new lifeguard kayak is here and it gets locked at the end of the lifeguard shift.
Social – Jill and Keri Graef
July 4th – The board decided to increase the ticket prices for the July 4th picnic by $2. A $2 discount will be applied for early payment.
Jill and Keri reported that the Movie night went well. Teen night is the next planned event. Adult party is on July 16th.
Yoga sessions are planned on the beach Sunday mornings starting mid July.
Water Quality – Diane Adams
Diane was absent at the meeting and there was nothing new to report.
New Business
Lisa – Lisa said there used to be lights under the canopies on the clubhouse patio, but we don’t have them any longer. Need them back.
