Feb 2017 Board Meeting Minutes
Attending:Chris Lelli, Lisa Kutchaver, Harshal Limaye, Diane Adams, Mike McLaughlin, Mona Ragazzo, Cynthia Freund, Mike Gilmore
Absent: Maggie Potter, Bob Papp
The meeting started on Feb 6th, 2017 at 7:40pm.
Motions: The meeting minutes for January were not available for review/approval. No motions were passed.
President – Mike McLaughlin
Beavers – The beaver traps are getting tampered with by humans. Mike is looking at extending the permit for capturing the beavers.
Motor Boats – One new member wanted to bring a motor boat on the lake. The boat is environmentally protected with a motor that is silent and also sealed so it does not drain. Motor boats are generally not allowed on Sunset Lake and to allow members to use them will require 1.) changing the bylaws and 2.) establishing a standard process to inspect the boat before it’s use to ensure safety. Mike M proposed the board should ask the member to submit an application substantiated by sufficient research and present to membership in Nov’s annual meeting.
Social – Jill and Keri are not continuing their membership for this year and the board will be looking for a new social chair.
Vice President – Bob Papp
Absent
Treasurer – Mona Ragazzo
Accounts/Taxes – Mona had her first meeting with the bookkeeper to go over things and Bob Papp has given her a checklist for regular accounting tasks. Taxes for 2016 have been already filed.
Payroll – A lifeguard lost his check from ADP. This issue needs to be further investigated and settled.
Corresponding – Lisa Kutchaver
Newsletter – The board applauded Lisa for her outstanding work on the newsletter. Lisa said she was thinking of distributing another version of the newsletter more broadly to everyone living around the lake and beyond the membership. This will help with spreading awareness about the our issues and at the same time also protecting our privacy. She will get back to the board with specifics.
Recording – Harshal Limaye
Harshal thanked Chris Lelli and Mike Gilmore for helping out with the minutes for the annual meeting and January meeting respectively.
Membership – Cynthia
Membership – Cynthia has put together the most up-to-date membership list and distributed to everyone.
Boys Scout – Every year the association sponsors an half page ad for the Boys Scout. The board voted all in favor to go ahead with the ad this year as well.
