Sunset Lake Board Meeting Minutes
August 20th, 2018 7:30PM
Present: Mike McLaughlin, Lisa Kutchaver, Mona Ragazzo, Donna M, Maggie Potter, Harshal Limaye, Cynthia Freund
Absent: Rob Bolte, Mike Gilmore, Helder Cristavao
President – Mike McLaughlin
Mike M. said he will organize storm damage cleanup this weekend. Weeds were treated 2 weeks ago for second time. It takes 14-21 days to die down.
Beer festival preparations are on track. Lisa K. is helping out with conducting a silent auction. There will be food for about 225 people donated by Stecks Deli, Maggiano’s, Panatieri’s Pizza and others.
Super Saver is setting up a table of scotch, tequila, vodka and rum.
Mike proposed the annual meeting be held on Nov 4th. He will go ahead and book the venue.
Nominating Committee – Lisa has volunteered to put together a nominating committee to nominate candidates to fill open trustee positions.
Sunday Yoga on the Lake ends in September and Jen Johnson reached out to Mike if she could continue running it through fall/winter at someone’s home.

Treasurer – Mona Ragazzo
Mona presented a list of people who have still not paid their membership dues. Members from the board volunteered to reach out to some of those on the list.
New applicants have also not paid, Mona gave this list to Cynthia.
Insurance – Director’s insurance, General Liability, Alcohol, Worker’s Comp. Mona said Bob Papp use to we need someone assigned to look into insurance – Mike G assigned.
Water Quality – Donna M
Dona reported that due to rain there were a couple of times the lake did not pass the test and swimming was closed for those days. But it passed on the next test.
Membership – Cynthia Freund
New application for membership from Christopher Soucy. Cynthia made a motion and the board voted them in subject to payment of initiation fees and dues.
Recording Secretary – Harshal Limaye
Harshal reported that Ahaan L. has created the new website which right now is a copy of the existing website, but it is mobile friendly and easy to update with no coding required. All board members will be given a login so they can post their changes directly to the website.
Mona Ragazzo made a motion to give Ahaan a gift card for his work on the website, the board unanimously passed the motion.

Lisa reported the newsletter went out. The board thanked her for a job well done.
She suggested water balloons should not be allowed at the clubhouse, since it makes a lot of mess.
The board passed a motion to buy a new basketball net and allocated a budget of $250 installed.
Lifeguards – Maggie Potter
A shout out to Rob Lelli (lifeguard) who saved a life on the lake.
Maggie said boats should be removed from the lake for winter before Nov 15th.
New Business:
Bylaws – The bylaws need to be updated. A committee will be formed to take up this task. Board to reach ask Peg Harmon to lead. Peg has been a long-time active member and is very knowledgeable about the lake association and its workings.
Prorated membership fees for new members who join late in the year. This will need a change in bylaws and also a consultation with the accountant on how taxes will be handled.
