7:40 Meeting called to order
Present at the meeting were: Michael mc Laughlin, Michael Gilmore, Regina Palmer, Margaret Potter, Donna Marlowe, Lisa Kutchaver, Rob Bolte, Julie Puorro, and Cynthia Freund. Absent, Helder and Harshal.
Mike M: The issue of prank emails reoccurred, but was immediately squelched.
Three of the geese have returned and may be nesting. We should go and addle or grease the eggs asap. Most likely the nest is on the north shore, near the Welsh’s.
Mike M moved 3 boats from lake-side to the parking lot. There are more
Should we give them away on the Free-cycle day? Sell them?
Pat Brown complained that his boat was moved for him.
Regina will send out a copy of the bylaws so members can be reminded of the boat rules.
Mike Gilmore: Ongoing gate issues, arm damaged, etc. Lots of wood dropped off in the lot because the gate has been left open all along
Mike also suggested that garbage collection should be reinstated as of April 1.
Clean up scheduled for April 27 and 28, and May 3 and 4. Extra time needed because the fall clean up was insufficient. Mike said he will oversee one weekend and Helder, the other.
Mike talked about renting a machine to move sane, borrowing a log splitter. Rob will inquire about quality of sand and where to get it.
Mike talked about where we will move existing sand and where we will put the new sand
Lisa K: People are paying dues, balance is increasing. All is progressing. Lisa talked about a previous member who had a certificate he did not redeem. The new residents have not yet joined. If they have the certificate, they may be enticed to join? Cynthia will research.
Maggy P :
We will need more lifeguards because 2 are not coming back, and 2 more may not come back. We have been increasing each guards wages as they gain years of seniority. We may need to raise minimum pay, and raise senior guards’ pay accordingly.
Donna M: Water testing to start before Memorial day. She will have the lake tested as usual and have the well tested in the beginning of the season.
Cynthia F: membership requests are few and unfruitful. Passed around a mailing she sent to new residents. It has been too cold to knock on doors, but will do so when weather permits. Cynthia made a motion to offer an incentive to exiting members who are instrumental in getting a new family to join . Motion seconded by Mike M Board discussed the incentive should be a ticket to July 4th or the Adult Party. Motion voted and passed. Cynthia has been proactively reaching out to Realtors who have listed homes in the area and provided them with Lake information that they can distribute to potential buyers.
Rob B: When does the water in the clubhouse get turned back on? Gutters are overflowing, need attention . Deck by shower is rotting, he will remove it. Maggy asked if if can be repaired instead. Club house is quit cluttered with things stored, including new grills.
We need a new water filter for the clubhouse, and the proper wrench to replace it.
Julie P: Julie is putting calendar events on the website. Some of them are: The freecycle event, the clean up.
The Egg hunt is the 13th and their is no chair person
Yoga on the beach will be back, and we may increase the price.
Movie nights need to be scheduled, and we need someone with equipment now that Chris Lelli is not a member. Julie wants to make sure the ball field is maintained properly, especially for the campout event.

A tree behind the clubhouse dropped a branch into the wires . Maggy talked about JCP&L and having called them.
We need to install a back stop at the basketball hoop. Cynthia suggested we ask Kenny Campbell to organize it, and possibly get some of the strong teenagers or kids to help with it.
Al Kahulik has a log splitter he will allow us to use.
The garbage and recycle bins need to have a strong lid so people do not fill them during the off season.
We need a new swing, a 2 person swing, installed by a licenser contractor for liability purposes.
David Potts talked to Maggy about the fact that American Cyanamid is taking soil/fill. Mike M reminded us that no testing is required if we move the soil within the township.
Maggy talked about boat stickers and boat registration. This has been suspended since Pat Holoob was in charge of membership. Lisa then showed us the new batch of boat stickers she ordered and received. They cost $400 for 200, . Maggy made a motion to charge $5 for each, second Mike M , discussion that people may not be happy about paying the $5, motion voted and passed. Maggy is the official boat monitor.
Maggy put forth that every board position should have a handbook of sorts. Current board members should initiate authorship of same.
Maggy is still concerned about the Hickory dock ,and the absence of progress on its repair.
Maggy talked about a recent event in which a member ( hopefully a member) borrowed the table from the shed, and returned it during the off season. Discussion is that tables should not leave the clubhouse ground
Maggy talked about the tree wrapping Mike M reports that we spent $400 and MANY volunteers came down and wrapped more than 100 trees over the course of 2 weekends
Maggy said that this is the season in which kids in the town need community service hours and asked how do we get on te list? Mike G may be helpful with his.
Maggy put forth that board members should be in attendance for more of the events held at the Lake, and the events offsite. The Valentine’s day dance could have been better attended by board members.
Rob B: Boat launch area , by Patullos, needs more gravel, and can we put in a boat rack? There is a lot of muck by the boat dock.
Rob talked about a trench behind the clubhouse for rain water control and to control erosion caused by same. Rob asked if the fence between the Lake property and the Patullos is on the property line. Rob talked about power lines, a tree, a telephone poll, and a guide wire. Maggy will call JCP&L about it.
Donna M : Donna asked about the swim deck Mike G asked if it is taking on water when it rains. Mike explained that there are specific safety codes about the swim deck and the current one is compliant. This is important for our insurance. Julie talked about a loose board on the swim deck. Mike talked about replacing the pontoons with new ones that are leak resistant
Lisa K talked about our brand new boat stickers. We should do a mailing or am emailing about them. Every boat should be registered before it hits the lake. Cynthia will have to add verbiage about boats on the membership application.
Mike G: Asked about No trespassing signs. Is seeking info on which nails will not cause damage or disease to the trees. noting that many of the trees that dies had signs on them.
Julie P: Will put a paper calendar at the clubhouse and on the Blue Board, and on the website, Private parties may be scheduled as of April 1 and payment of dues. For movie night, we can borrow equipment from the library. A member also volunteered his equipment
Cynthia talked about complaints about the lawn and put forth a suggestion to reinstate a former lawn care company. Discussion squelched the suggestion.
