January 2020 Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order at 7:37pm.

Mike: Boat Rack / Eagle Scout Project, Larry Perez . Sam Clem, Do we need to allot them any funding for materials? 250-500
Permits for July 4th and Beer fest ( Sept 12) are confirmed by Mike, John will handle the insurance forms
In reference to the Annual Meeting: Member concerns about cement erosion by the dam. Sean/Helder pour cement, with/without a frame
Bridge and road belong to county, dam belongs to Lake
Boat launch sign to be put near/on Boat rack. Maggy to author the sign, buy fron Sign-a-rama?
A member asked for an electrical outlet on the beach, board thinks it is only a hazard/liability. Members can charge their devices in/near club house
Hole in roof/ceiling of clubhouse, spray with Flex seal
One more leaf clean up is needed, playground, etc Sean will organize it, Regina will solicit participation from membership via email
Spring Cleanup , Last weekend in April and first weekend in May , maybe a “quickie” before egg hunt, if it gets a chairperson

Jim Doggett wants to pass on tribal knowledge about Valve operation
Chis to meet with Lisa to take over all treasury functions, all check signers must go to the bank
Sean: When/Where etc in reference to supplies like bathroom tissue, etc, What is least expensive? Grainger? Costco? Chris suggest Staples
Chris: Utilities, can we save money through a third party program? Also can we make/receive electronic payments? It is possible through Quick Books, and there is also a program called VEEM in which the payer is charged one dollar
Social Club rules from IRS prevents non members buying tickets, must be purchased by members, how does this affect yoga?
Regina: merge membership lists between the secretary and the treasurer Google contacts is not working, emails are bouncing back too often. Members are asking all mass emails to have BCC so their email address is not shared
Must ask Harshal about website login info for the new board members
Cynthia: prospecting methods from last year to continue, including publicizing the free ticket to a paid event for a member who facilitates a new membership
Are we going to re-instate the newsletter? Will it be only electronic? It will be quarterly
Helder: getting pricing on landscaping, current guy seems well priced. Helder to mark out the dead trees, they need to be removed professionally, in addition to a lot of trimming and chipping to be done. We need better footings for the volleyball net.
Trimming by the bench and rebuilding of the benches. Hickory dock needs one more step. Meiners dock needs to be re-anchored, Dock by the dam needs repair
Maggie: Lifeguards need a raise, Board agrees
Donna: Same water company, same procedures, all good
Sean:
-The gate computer’s hard drive was replaced because it was failing with a newer model SSD hard drive that was donated. Sean is considering about mounting it on the wall so that it is easier to maintain. He gave Cynthia ten new cards, we have many more available so there is no need to purchase any replacement cards any time soon.
-New WIFI network name at clubhouse: “Sunset Lake”, password “LakeLife2020”.
-Dead tree stump on patio has wires attached and it is very rotten, not good. Very unsafe for kids if it falls. Power company has guide lines on it. Sean to call power company to have them remove their support lines. Other lines, like our parking lot lines are on their poles.
-Lot lights, do we want them on a timer? We need more lights by the sheds and volleyball area. Sean to get some volunteers together for a wiring/light project.
New Business:
Maggie concerned with keys ( this is new? ) No trespassing signs have been stolen.
We need to post the property lines and prevent hunting on lake property.
Birch guard rail got hit again
Memorial garden needs attention
Garden club to resurrect the “Memorial Day tree/plantings” area on NorthShore close to Mieners
Board will adopt carry in and carry out policy for beach . Members will use dumpster. There will not be a garbage receptacle on the beach , frames will be removed
Julie: Can we research getting a sound barrier?

John: Meiners award. Board unanimously approves Al Kahulik
Cynthia: When will we have hydro-raking? Last year it was supposed to be earlier, someone needs to go open the bathrooms for them
Chris: They have a baby due on July 4th! Now that is new business!

Maggie: we found the reflective tape
