Sunset Lake January 20201 Meeting Minutes
Present: Julie, Harshal, Cynthia, Sean, Donna, Mike M, Sheila, John C, Helder
Meeting called to order at 7:35PM
President – Mike M
Sign work from Sign-a-rama has been approved and the new sign will be ready in about a week and half, hopefully.
Dam cleanup – Work crew removed trees and we are in pretty good shape. Trees must be removed to maintain integrity of the dam.
Cynthia had questions about who paid for the sign. Mike said the county paid the deductible and our insurance paid for the rest.
Vice President – John C
Insurance – $1000 additional premium to reinstate the D&O (Directors and Officers) insurance. We were insured for D&O in the past, but there was a lapse in the last couple of years and John noticed and is taking action to correct it so we are sufficiently covered and insured.
Mike asked John to also check if our regular insurance provides us with sufficient coverage.
Sheila – do insurance claims change premiums? Mike said the D&O premium is budgeted for this year.
Treasurer – Chris
Chris was absent for the meeting but he sent his report to Mike by email. All 2021 invoices will go out shortly in the month of January.
Corresponding Secretary – Regina
Regina was absent.
Membership – Cynthia
Cynthia asked the board if she could do a FB post for membership recruitment. Yes.
Grounds – Helder

For other activities she will wait and see how things are allowed to open up.
Beer fest – Mike will wait until March or April to start planning for it.
New Business
Julie
Got an estimate for badges – it will cost roughly about $500/year.
Cynthia
Asked Donna to look at another vendor who will charge $650 for water testing. Garden State is charging $750. Donna said she will try to negotiate with Garden State first before switching vendors.
Website – Asked Harshal to update the Covid message on the website. Harshal updated the message while on the call.
Sean
Parking Gate won’t close.
John
Snow removal contract. Helder said our landscapers do it so we can call them if needed.
Marijuana and No Smoking policy – pursuant to legislation being passed in NJ to make marijuanna legal, the board will revisit Mariuanna and in general No Smoking policy at the Lake.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
