July 2019 Sunset Lake Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order on July 8th, 2019 @ 7:40pm
June minutes were approved by the board for posting on the website and distribution by email.
President – Mike McLaughlin
Special Meeting – No resolution was passed at the meeting, approximately 30 people attended. It was decided that the bylaws committee will take this forward.
Beer fest – Food and beer vendors are lined up for the event. This year we have upgraded on both beer and spirits. No pets will be allowed on the beach. No kids will be allowed on the beach.
Hydro Raking – Planned for the end of this month. Algae control has broken up the organic stuff and appears to be working well. Mike M went in on his kayak and pulled some sticks and pieces of wood off the lake.
Cameras – Sean Ryan has sent Mike M the link and Google login to the portal for viewing the recordings from the camera.
Vice President – Mike Gilmore
He has tried everything, but the parking gate is still not working. Options are to replace the system or reach out to Tom Kern for help again.
Treasurer – Lisa Kutchaver
3 members have not paid their dues for this year and have not responded to emails or letters from Lisa. If they do not pay up their membership will have to be canceled.
4th July was a great success, total $5770 was collected and the lake made a profit of $463.97. Recommendations for next year are to increase chicken by 50 pieces and reduce corn.

Regina has updated email addresses of members on the membership directory and distributed it to the membership.
Membership – Cynthia Freund
Received three new applications for membership.
First application is from, Christopher DeGlio and Holly DeGlio who came to 4th of July. Second application is from Janet Vargo and her 17 year old son Charlie from 1213 Evergreen Drive.
Cynthia made a motion to accept the membership applications, and the board voted them in as members subject to receiving the initiation fee of $1000 and annual dues from each family.
3rd application is from Schumer family, but Cynthia is yet to receive their application form and the $100 fee application fee.
Grounds – Helder Cristovao
Helder reported the work on Hickory Dock is 90% complete. Steps are left.
Lifeguards – Maggie Potter
Maggie reported she had to suspend a LG for a week. They will be back next week.
She has put LG bios on Facebook and would like to put them on the website as well.
60 boats tags were sold.
LG are asking everyone to write their names on the sign-in sheet and it’s working.
Water Quality – Donna Marlowe
Water is getting tested once a week. If it fails gets tested within 24 hours and every 24 hours until it passes.
Club house – Rob Bolte
Rob said he will work on the water erosion problem at the clubhouse and playground in September. Mike M asked if we can temporarily put some logs at the corner to prevent sand washing away on to the street.
We have enough supplies of toilet paper, soap, propane, charcoal, lighter fluid and cleaning supplies.
Bathroom Cleaning – Ryan Harper
Suggested the electric panel lock be removed since it’s a safety issue.
Social – Julie
Father’s Day, Campout and Movie night,
Yoga has been an issue – 7 people last week and 1 person this week.
Coming up movie night this Friday – Honey I Shrunk the Kids won the vote.
Omelete Sunday July 21
Aug 4th – Chris O’Brien Old York Winery event. Get yourself there, no shuttle.
Movie night Aug 16th
Adult Party Aug 17th.
New business
Lisa – The Shed is a mess from the July 4th party. She will get it cleaned up. Shed in parking lot has a leak in the roof and floor is rotting.
Julie – Indoor / outdoor rug a good replacement for the one on the shed. Are there letters for donations? Fresh market wants a letter. Wegmans gives $200 every year. Stecks Deli, Costco, Panaterieris.
Maggie – Boats documents were updated and sent to the membership.
Private Parties – Maggie suggested we should have time slots for parties. Board said we cannot police that. We cannot have two parties on the same day, since there’s not enough time to cleanup for the next party.
50-50 – Not arm’s length should be fixed number for $
Ballfield grass is not cut. Mike G said the field was wet from rain so grass cutters could not cut. Trees – Best to cut down trees in Fall
Valve – The valve is old and it is concerning it might break soon.
