Sunset Lake October Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order on Oct 5th, 2020 at 7:35pm.
Attendees:

President – Mike
Maggie is stepping down, the board is looking for a replacement.
Nominating Committee meeting: Within the next 10-14 days. A mailer will be sent out by email regarding the annual meeting and agenda (10-14 days before the meeting)
Budget 2021
Chris presented the budget. Mike made a motion to present this budget to the membership and the board voted all in favor.
South Shore Cleanup
3-4 days of cleanup. Place looks pretty good. Still some cleaning of logs but space looks a lot better.
Maggie said, overall looks good people are very happy with this. They are happy with the dock, the guardrail got fixed. As we pulled the tree out, we can now clear it up, remove the stump and turn it into a boat launch area for next year.
Trunk or Treat
A couple of members approached Mike asking permission for a trunk or treat event at the lake. They are willing to run it – Wendy Fialla and Suzzane. Mike said he has no objection.
Cynthia – Told them that it couldn’t be a lake event, but it can be parents doing the thing. But they can use lake decorations. Cynthia will reach out to them with our concerns for safety and social distancing and ask them to come up with a solution and the board will consider.
Vice President – John
Insurance has been paid. Director/Officer insurance is still an open issue. Emailed them to respond.
Buy a tarp for the dock and rope for the doc.
Change the boards to aluminum boards. $4500 for the aluminum boards.
Treasurer – Chris
Checking account has: $48K
Hydro raking, Landscaping invoices, accounting fees still need to be paid.
Unpaid list: $9425.00 in outstanding dues, 11 members have not paid the dues.
Reach out to ppl who have paid partial dues and ask them to pay by Dec 1st. Unpaid members will be given a final notice after which their membership will be canceled.
Mike M said he will call people this week.

Nothing new to report.
Membership – Cynthia
11 new members joined this year.
Additionally, 8 more people/families have reached out to Cynthia for membership information.
Grounds – Helder
Helder was absent but Mike filled in with Grounds report.
Helder met with the tree cutting guy to cut down trees on the South Shore. Maggie will direct where the wood chips will go.
Lifeguards – Maggie
LG season is over. Payroll is done. Nothing to report.
Water Quality – Donna
Nothing new to report
Clubhouse – Sean
PSEG will be working on trees, he’s waiting for the people to come in. Starting November the parking lot gate will be back on with codes.
Social – Julie
Yoga is still on.
Movie night Fri 30th – Kids Halloween movie and a scary movie after.
New business
Maggie
– Wants to get a safe and put it in the shed. It will cost about $400. We tried a safety deposit box. Julie did an inventory of the stuff and there are things we want to save.
Mike asked Maggie to send out what we have in the bins so we can estimate how big a safe we need to store.
– Went to the county to get the property deed. Are we going to get a survey and the deed that we lost in the fire.
– Drainage sewer intake at the clubhouse. Helder was talking about digging it out.
– JCP&L won’t take down the tree next to the dead tree since it’s entangled in wires.
Julie
– Asked about an update on the new sign. Mike has sent an email with a claim to the county. He was told it is in process but backed up due to covid-19.
Regina
– Once we identify who’s paid we need to get a 2020 membership directory. It will be good to email it out before the annual meeting.
John
– Asked about an update on the Boys Scout request to park their trailer at the lake parking lot. Sean said it’s not advisable to park on the grass as they will get flat tires.
Chris
– Asked if we are raising dues next year. Mike said last year the recommendation was to keep dues the same. Jim O proposed the increase in dues, but it did not pass. Chris, proposes to increase the dues by $50. The board decided to make a recommendation to increase dues.
– 2020 fund drive – donation for the Martinsville Fire Department. The board voted to make a $50 donation with all in favor.
Julie
Scuba team for practice. Mike has their contact and will reach out to them.
